Away in Alaska

Writer: Ryan KochRyan Koch

Wait, isn't all of this supposed to be all about fly fishing in Iowa?

Yes, but it's a big world out there. There are a lot of great fly fishing experiences to be had worldwide, as well as within the United States. And while we spend the majority of our time in Iowa, it never hurts to venture out every once in awhile.

Alaska truly is "The Last Frontier", containing some of the wilder places that still exist in our world. The climate can be harsh, the environment is pristine, the views can be spectacular, and the fishing can be unbelievable.

We got back from a trip in the summer of 2024 after we spent time exploring Alaska and fishing for a few different species. We targeted king salmon, sockeye salmon, arctic grayling, and rainbow trout. It was an incredible experience.

We could tell you about it, but the best way to share the stories is through a video.

After you watch it, if you're interested in visiting Alaska, we are hoping to get a group together to go visit Alaska in the next few years, stay at a lodge, and have an all-inclusive experience fly fishing in some of the more pristine places in North America. Please reach out to us if you're interested in joining us on an Alaskan adventure.
